My sweet husband Curt was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Oct 1st 2010 at the age of 46. He has no family history of Alzheimer’s, so this was a surprise! But in hindsight there were many signs of this horrid disease as far back as 2006, but back then we certainly we not thinking Alzheimer’s! Our lives have forever been changed since that fateful day! But we are thankful for such caring friends and family and a faithful God who continues to direct our steps on this unplanned journey our family is now on!
If you want to read more about Curt when he was first diagnosed check out my archives section between the dates of Oct-Dec. of 2010.
He was officially diagnosed Oct. 1st 2010.
A little about our family……..
I am a wife of 27 years to dear hubby, he was an awesome worship drummer and a beloved public high school teacher before Alzheimer’s struck. I am mom to a 21 year old son, sports are his mainstay these days, he played Varsity basketball and Varsity baseball in high school and plays baseball for a D-1 college. I am also mom to a hilarious 18 year old daughter, who plays lacrosse in college and is our creative spirit with a fun sense of humor. I am also a follower of Jesus, a public school special ed. teacher, and a weary lady. The journey has not been easy the last 6 years, but we have seen God’s hand in such a personal way that we move forward walking in His grace and strength.
Oh and that is a nice young picture of me,it’s been up there since I started this blog in 2007 so now that I am old and tired, I thought I would let you think I am a young and energetic mom. 🙂
